  • Mrs Judith Shepherd

    Chair of Governors, Co-opted governor

Mrs Shepherd is the Chair of the Governing Body, Chair of the Sites and Buildings committee, Safeguarding Governor, Health and Safety governor and Sports governor. 

She was originally appointed as a community governor in October 2010 and was appointed by the governing body as a co-opted governor in the reconstitution of the governing body in October 2014. Her term of office ends on 1st October 2018. 

Mrs Shepherd has no declarations of interest. 

In the 2016-17 academic year Mrs Shepherd attended; 6/6 FGB meetings, 4/4 Sites and Buildings, a data meeting and two grounds Health and Safety audits. Mrs Shepherd also attended the P&F Budget approval meeting.

  • Mrs Emma Kerr

    Vice Chair of Governors, Parent Governor

Mrs Kerr is Vice Chair of Governors and Maths governor. Mrs Kerr is a member of the Learning and Teaching committee. 

Mrs Kerr was appointed as a parent governor in November 2014. Her term of office ends on 5th November 2018. 

Mrs Kerr has declared that she is currently employed by Overbury Plc which manages office refurbishment. 

Mrs Kerr has three children at the school.

  • Mrs Nicola Carr

    Parent Governor

Mrs Carr was appointed as a parent governor on 24th February 2017. Her term of office ends on 23rd February 2021.

Mrs Carr has two children at the school.

  • Mrs Elizabeth Bridgeman

    Staff Governor

Mrs Bridgeman is the humanities governor, Eco schools governor and a member of the Personnel and Finance committee. 

Mrs Bridgeman is in her third of office as Staff governor. Her term of office ends on 25th November 2019. 

Mrs Bridgeman has declared that her son has previously taught piano, outside of school, to pupils .

  • Mrs Pat Kerton

    Headteacher

Mrs Kerton joined The Hawthorns as headteacher in September 2012. 

The headteacher holds ex-officio status and is a member of all committees.

  • Mrs Rosie Beech

    Co-opted governor

Mrs Beech is the SEND, LAC governor and Literacy Governor, a member of Learning and Teaching and the Personnel and Finance committee. 

Mrs Beech was originally appointed as a Non-Teaching governor in September 2002 and was appointed by the governing body as a co-opted governor in the reconstitution of the governing body in October 2014. Her term of office ends on 1st October 2018.

  • Dr Ian Severn

    Co-opted governor

Dr Severn is the Computing and e-safety governor. He is a member of the Learning and Teaching and the Sites and Buildings committee.

  • Mrs Diane Hampton

    Co-opted governor

Mrs Hampton is the Chair of the Personnel and Finance Committee and the Development governor. 

Mrs Hampton was originally appointed as a community governor in May 2009 and was re-appointed by the governing body as a co-opted governor in the reconstitution of the governing body in October 2014. Her term of office ends on 1st October 2018. 

Mrs Hampton has declared that her current employment is as HR manager within a local education establishment and that her daughter is a teacher at the school.

  • Mrs Dawn Wojcik

    Co-opted governor

Mrs Wojcik is a member of the Sites and Buildings committee and Learning and Teaching committee. 

Mrs Wojcik was appointed by the governing body as a co-opted governor in December 2015. Her term of office ends on 9th December 2019. 

Mrs Wojcik has previously held the position of Non-teaching staff governor from October 2007 to October 2011.

  • Mr Dozie Nnabuife

    Co-opted governor

Mr Nnabuife is the Chair of the Learning and Teaching committee, a Safeguarding governor and the Science governor. Mr Nnabuife is a member of all committees for this academic year. 

Mr Nnabuife was appointed by the governing body as a co-opted governor in February 2016. His term of office ends on 4th February 2020. 

Mr Nnabuife has two children currently at the school.

Reverend Mukholi is the RE, SMSC Governor and a member of the Learning and Teaching committee.

Mr Wilkins is the Computing and website compliance governor and a member of the Personnel and Finance Committee. 

Mr Wilkins was recently appointed as a Co-opted governor on 23rd March 2017. His term of office ends on 22nd March  2021. 

Mr Wilkins has two children attending the school.

Mr Chris Shaw

Mr Shaw was Chair of the governing body and a member of all the committees. Mr Shaw was also a Safeguarding governor. 

He was originally appointed as a parent governor in October 2009 and was appointed by the governing body as a Local Authority governor in 2013; he remained in this post with the reconstitution of the governing body in October 2014. His term of office expired on 4th July 2017. 

Mr Shaw declared that his wife worked part time in the school. 

In the 2016-17 academic year Mr Shaw attended; 6/6 FGB meetings, 1/3 Learning and Teaching, 3/5 Personnel and Finance and 3/4 Sites and Buildings committee meetings. Mr Shaw also attended a Data Meeting and a Strategic Governors meeting.

Mr Matt Jex

Mr Jex was the Website compliance governor and was a member of the Personnel and Finance committee. 

Mr Jex was appointed by the governing body as a co-opted governor in the reconstitution of the governing body in October 2014. Mr Jex resigned from the governing body due to a career opportuniy and his term of office ended on the 31st August 2017. 

Mr Jex was a Senior Leader and Key Stage 2 teacher at The Hawthorns Primary School.
